THE PERFECT MELON FOR
SALADS & MORE
The unique taste of the Limelon makes this melon very suitable for some extremely delicious recipes. We could call the Limelon melon the ideal melon for refreshing salads! Here is an example for a perfect Limelon recipe.
ASIAN LIMELON SALAD (VEGAN)
- 1 Limelon
- 20 cherry tomatoes
- 125 grams of bean sprouts
- 200 grams of soybeans (cooked)
- bunch of cilantro
- 80 grams of toasted coconut shavings / chips
- 1/2 red pepper
- 1 cloves of garlic
- 25 grams of soy sauce (Japanese soy)
- 25 grams of Mirin (sweet Japanese cooking wine)
- 2 tablespoons of palm sugar
- 1 lime
Step 1: Finely chop the chili pepper and garlic.
Step 2: Mix the soy sauce, Mirin, the palm sugar and the juice of the lime in a bowl, add the chili and garlic and mix.
Step 3: Remove the peel and seeds from the Limelon, then cut the Limelon into equal parts pieces of about 1 cm by 3 cm.
Step 4: Cut the tomatoes in half
Extra tip, if you like it spicy, you can sprinkle some chili flakes over the salad.
Step 5: Rinse the bean sprouts with hot water
Step 6: Cut the cilantro, be careful not to fine
Step 7: Put the limelon, tomatoes, bean sprouts and soybeans in the bowl with the marinade, toss this together. At last add the cilantro and gently mixing together.
Step 8: Roast the coconut in a dry frying pan, making sure that it does not burn.
Step 9: Divide the salad between 4 bowls and sprinkle with toasted before serving coconut
